Ronald J. Koss, DVM
Educated abroad and in the United States, Dr. Ronald J. Koss brings to our community as well as to the Veterinary profession the perspective and benefits of a worldwide education as well as many years of experience working with a variety of animal species. Practicing in Southern California since 1989, Dr. Koss has dedicated himself mostly to disease prophylaxis and treatment of companion animals where pets are treated as family members.
Dr. Koss resides in Thousand Oaks with his wife Joan, an american whom he met in Brazil as a child, their two children Daniela and Jason (J.J.) and their pets: Shilo, a yellow lab, Oscar, a domestic shorthair cat and Wallie , a lovebird. His free time is spent with his family, his house, playing soccer and joging.

Credentialed as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) Dr. Koss is Certified by the California Veterinary Medical Board and E.C.F.V.G. Certified by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Koss is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association as well as the California Veterinary Medical Association. In addition to his California license, Dr. Koss has been licenced to practice veterinary medicine in Florida and Connecticut.
Betty Fundakowski, DVM
As of November 2002, Dr. Betty Fundakowski joined Dr. Koss at CHVH. After making a family decision, Dr. Betty (as we call her) has moved from Maryland to Thousand Oaks with her husband Dr. Steve Feldman , her twin daughters, Emily & Lindsay (16), her dogs, B. B., Jamocha & Rosie, her cats, Punkin & Mazy, Normy, a corn snake, Cuddles, an African Grey parrot and finally Veggie , her iguana. Her son, Brian (19), stayed in Maryland at his job. Dr. Betty graduated from the University of Illinois in 1977. After working as a surgeon at College Park Animal Hospital, she co-owned Clinton Animal Hospital with her husband in Maryland for 21 years.
Dr. Betty is also certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist and has studied Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. She also treats pocket pets, reptiles and birds. Dr. Betty shares the practice philosophy of providing friendly, honest and affordable quality service to our community and more importantly she is a warm person who truly enjoys her clients and patients as well as the practice of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Betty spends her free time between her family, improving her new home & garden, and with her hobbies: quilting, sewing and crafts. Dr. Koss and Dr. Betty will share all cases.
Evan J. Klein, DVM
has joined Drs. Ronald Koss and Betty Fundakowski as a full-time staff veterinarian at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital in Thousand Oaks this on July 2007.
California born and raised, Dr. Klein has been interested in marine and land animals for as long as he can remember. He became interested in becoming a veterinarian working for three years at the animal shelter in Santa Cruz, CA. He completed his undergraduate work in Marine Biology at the U.C. Santa Cruz campus and then realized his dream by graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Klein also completed a two year working internship at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. His work experiences include treating a wide variety of animal species such as cattle, pigs, deer, sheep, goats, bison, dogs and cats.
Dr. Klein resides in Calabasas, with his dog Calvin and a large salt-water aquarium. He has a major interest in photography and enjoys outdoor recreation, such as taking his dog to the beach, snowboarding, playing soccer and street hockey.
Dr. Klein is happy to join an establishment that provides quality veterinary care at very affordable prices to the members of our community.
